Fabio Simi – President, CFO
Mr. Simi focuses on strategic and financial matters while managing the company’s strategic alliances and new business development. Prior to CPRI, Fabio was managing director of Cowen and Company’s San Francisco office where he managed the institutional equity sales effort. Cowen is a premier investment bank that focuses on growth businesses and has a particular expertise in health care investment banking. Fabio earned his degree in chemistry from the University of California, San Diego and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.

Dr. Janos Varga, Ph.D., M.D. – Chief Science Officer and Co-Founder
Dr. Varga is the intellectual nucleus of CPRI and holds 6 patents. He is recognized worldwide as a leading authority in peptide chemistry with over 35 years of experience. Janos continually develops new processes for peptide synthesis and works tirelessly to achieve client goals. Prior to founding CPRI, Dr. Varga was hired as the first employee of American Peptide Company, Inc. in 1988 where he helped to establish scientific protocols and operational processes. Dr. Varga has also held various posts at Bachem Group and The Salk Institute. Dr. Varga earned his Ph.D. and M.D. from the University of Szeged in Hungary.

Dr. Katalin Penzes, M.D. – Co-Founder
Dr. Penzes works in the day-to-day operations of the company in matters of finance and operations. Prior to CPRI, Dr. Penzes was the second employee of American Peptide Company, Inc. in 1988 where she helped to establish quality control protocols and operational processes. Dr. Penzes earned her M.D. from the University of Szeged in Hungary.

Luis Vizcarra – Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Vizcarra is responsible for the purification of peptides and ensuring that all laboratory operations run smoothly. "Chito" was the company’s first employee and has been with the company since 1994. Mr. Vizcara has purified over 10,000 peptides and attended numerous continuing education courses to further develop his knowledge of lab operations. Chito earned his B.S. in political science and business administration from California State University, Hayward.
